The capital of Indonesia is Jakarta on Java island and the largest states are Sumatra and Kalimantan on the island of Borneo. Many small islands stretch along from Sumatra and Java including Bali, popular for beach resorts and spiritual spas around Ubud. On its neighbour Lombok, you will find pristine beaches and superb boutique hotels In addition there are volcanic islands such as Komodo.
Central Java has a long Hindu and Buddhist past and is rich in tradition. The area around Yogyakarta is a popular tourist destination with performing arts and fabulous temples. Sumatra is a great place for adventure travel and ethnic tribes.
No two islands are the same in Indonesia, and as one of the most varied countries in South East Asia from religion to ethnicity, landscape to language, it holds infinite possibilities for a luxury holiday, honeymoon, or family adventure.

Weather in Indonesia
There are two main seasons in Indonesia, May to October is dry and November to April is wet. The road systems are good and there are flights between islands and boats between some.
