This is just one suggested itinerary, starting and ending in Dar Es Salaam. A combination of wetland and traditional safari, ending with a relaxing Zanzibar stay.

  • Day 1: Arrive into Dar and overnight in central hotel
  • Day 2: Fly to Mwanza. Meet your guide at Mwanza Airport and transfer by road for about 2 hours to Little Okavango Camp (2 nights) through the unusual city of Mwanza known as the “Rock City”, due to its huge boulders scattered across the wider landscape. Arrive at the intimate Little Okavango Camp. Dependent on your flight times there may be a chance to take a gentle boat ride through the local channels around camp.
  • Day 3: This morning, explore the fishing village of Mwaburugu along Lake Victoria coastline. You will leave the camp by vehicle and return by motorboat, stopping for a delightful brunch at the Little Okavango amazing tower. Later in the evening drive to Kijereshi Game Reserve fabulous bush dinner and a drive back to the camp.
  • Day 4: After a leisurely breakfast, leave the camp for a game drive into Serengeti. You will be out on a game drive for a large part of the day before reaching the award-winning Bush Rover Migration Camp, a private and unique safari camp right in the heart of the action but away from the crowds.
  • Days 5-6: Explore this game rich area of Serengeti and marvel at the greatest safari spectacle in the world. Tanzania is blessed with an incredible array of safari experiences, but the Serengeti, with its magnificent migrating herds and huge population of predators, is unbeatable. Each day you’ll embark on a morning game drive in search of an array of wildlife including lions, cheetah, leopard and buffalo. Return to the camp and relax in the mess tent or from the balcony of your Bush Rover suite taking in the amazing views before heading out on an afternoon game drive as the sun goes down. Overnight at the Bush Rover migration camp for 3 nights.
  • Day 7: This morning take a game drive to the airstrip for your internal flight to Zanzibar. On landing you will be driven to the beautiful Zanzibari Boutique hotel near the lively resort of Nungwi.(3 nights)
  • Days 8-9: Nzori, who is the assistant manager is known as “Mr Nungwi” and his knowledge of local life is second to none. Any guests who take a village tour of Nungwi are likely to go with Nzori who gives you a fascinating insight of village life; something which is not easy unless one fully understands the sensitivities of the island. The remaining days are for you to relax, enjoy the peace of the hotel, or book from the many available excursions from village visits to spice farm tours which Zanzibar is famous for, to diving, snorkelling, and plenty more. There is also a simple oceanfront Spa at the hotel for massages and body treatments.
  • Day 10: Transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight home (or onward arrangements).

This is just one example of a Tent With A View holiday. Contact me to discuss any of the above mentioned locations and time of year, and we can create the perfect bespoke getaway.
