Overview & Highlights

Green Safaris operate in the most wild parts of Zambia, having fallen in love with the Busanga Plains and made it their home.

Chisa Busanga Camp was built to mimic its surrounds through beautiful architecture and environmentally conscious design.

Chisa is the Nyanja word for ‘birds nest’, and the rooms were inspired by the weaver bird nests that decorate the trees here. Sitting on a small tree-lined island, the camp uses only solar power as do the game drive vehicle and bicycles used to explore the watery landscapes beyond camp.

The four Nests blend seamlessly into the wild outdoors, whilst offering guests creature comforts needed inside for a luxurious nesting and sleeping experience.

The Busanga Plains, secreted away in the northern part of the Kafue National Park in Zambia, is one of the most untouched wilderness areas in Africa and this diverse wetland ecosystem is home to an amazing variety of wildlife, giving a very special safari experience.

  • Birds eye view of Busanga Plains from your own nest!
  • Explore one of the most untouched wilderness areas in Africa
  • Sustainable tourism – Chisa utilises solar power, water reticulation and biogas systems and have banned zero-use plastics.
  • Solar vehicle game drives, birdwatching, walking safaris, mountain biking
  • Experience wildlife conservation and community development projects
Jules Croucher

“Having fallen in love with Zambia whilst working in South Luangwa, I really enjoyed travelling through Kafue National Park. Staying in the remote wilderness area of Busanga Plains in the north of the park was a truly unique experience. Most memorable of all was the close proximity of lions to our camp & the atmospheric sunrise over the misty plains, dotted with palm islands … a truly magical place”

Combine your stay at Chisa with sister camp Ila Lodge and perhaps end with a stay at Tongabezi Lodge on the relaxing upper Zambezi River, close to Victoria Falls, one of the greatest wonders of the African continent.

Day 1: Fly (from Lusaka or Livingstone) to Kafue National Park and transfer to Chisa Camp
