One of the greatest wildlife spectacles of the world has to be a holiday to see Grizzly Bears. To be one of the lucky visitors with a prime view to see them fishing for salmon, my advice is to book as far ahead as possible, particularly for the remote wilderness lodges.

  • Day 1: Join tour in Anchorage
  • Day 2: Drive or ferry to Valdez, on the Prince William Sound.
  • Day 3: Journey to McCarthy via Keystone Canyon.
  • Day 4: Walk in Wrangell St Elias National Park.
  • Day 5: Free day; optional hike along the Kennicott Glacier or rafting.
  • Day 6: Travel along the Denali Highway to Tangle Lakes.
  • Day 7: Continue to Denali National Park.
  • Day 8: In Denali National Park; search for wildlife on walks.
  • Day 9: Drive to Talkeetna; optional scenic flight over Denali.
  • Day 10: Visit Hatchers Pass mine, continue to Seward.
  • Day 11: Free day; optional sea kayaking or cruise to Kenai Fjords National Park.
  • Day 12: Return to Anchorage via the Portage Valley.
  • Day 13: Tour ends Anchorage.

This is just one example of a group tour to Alaska. We can create your own bespoke holiday either as a private journey or with a group. All holidays can be booked to include flights and full package protection from the UK.

If you would like to see more of the Grizzly Bears of Alaska and Canada, why not stay at one of the remote fishing lodges and wildlife hotels where you can get up close to see the ‘fishing parties’ in summer months, travelling by float plane, deep into areas of wilderness.
