Sue and Malcolm – Canada & Calgary Stampede (June-July 2019)

Travel Review Calgary Stampede Canada Self Drive Holiday

You listened to our holiday needs and planned accordingly, adapting the itinerary if it was not what we wanted. You stuck to our budget – which I acknowledge was difficult given our destination.  The holiday was well organised and everything was arranged via Travel With Jules, including car hire and ferry crossings.

The majority of the accommodation was great and well located.  Alpine Meadows resort in British Columbia was amazing and we would definitely return. Tip – if booking/recommending to customers I would suggest that you advise them to travel to Clearwater as the Sat nav tells you to go via Kamloops – the road is better but it is a significant increase in travel time. Notably, staff advise that the road via Clearwater is actually better.

Most of the accommodation was great, however, the two that stood out for me and Malcolm were Cox Bay Beach resort (Tofino – Vancouver Island) and Alpine Meadows. Both were very different, but located in superb areas (1 on the beach and 1 near a lake). While Brewsters Mountain Lodge was centrally located in Banff so we could walk everywhere.

The Calgary stampede was a different aspect of the holiday, very busy and interesting. The scenery was amazing throughout our trip – Canada was very peaceful and relaxing.

Sue and Malcolm travelled with their friends Tony and Karen and the two couples hired a car a drove from Vancouver to Calgary via Vancouver Island, the Rockies and included time at the Calgary Stampede.
