Matt & Zoe – Lapland Honeymoon (Feb 2019)

First of all we would like to say thank you to Jules and Mags for their help in finding and booking our honeymoon to Lapland.

We have been recommending Travel with Jules to all our friends, the team are able to advise on all aspects of the trips they offer, can personalise to suit your needs and take the hassle and stress out of the holiday research and booking process. The fact that they have been to many (if not all!) the destinations they offer means that they can provide you with honest and sound advice to help you book the perfect get away.

We contacted Jules at short notice to book a belated honeymoon in Lapland. Jules and Mags were straight on the case and very quickly provided us with 4 holiday options giving us a good selection of destinations and activities to chose from. We decided on Wilderness Lodge Nangu and Wilderness Lodge Muotka, both in Finnish Lapland.

We loved the remoteness and true wilderness of Hotel Nangu (which is adults only). The small size of the hotel meant that activity groups were smaller, enriching the experience the guides were able to offer. The hotel had a very relaxed feel where we felt at home straight away.

Snowshoeing at Nangu was our favourite activity, enjoying the quiet of the wilderness, seeing some wildlife and being able to go pretty much anywhere. The guides were great at both Nangu and Muotka, but we would definitely recommend Nangu for that special Lapland experience.

Our Aurora Dome cabin at Muotka had its own sauna and made searching / awaiting the northern lights effortless with a heated glass roof above the bed. We really enjoyed the ice fishing trip by snowmobile sleigh to Lake Kopsusjärvi in one of the national parks. Where we caught fish and had lunch over an open fire.

Despite a hiccup at the start with a cancelled flight which meant we missed our first night at Nangu, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and it was reassuring to know that there was a friendly and helpful person at the end of the phone should an issue arise. We would not hesitate to book with Travel with Jules again.

PS. Didn’t see the northern lights due to night time cloud cover, but will use this as an excuse to book another holiday!
