We had a great time in Selous and on the coast in Tanzania. We absolutely loved Lake Manze camp. It was perfect for us – not too commercial and gave us a genuine “bush” experience. We saw an abundance of game, the guides were superb as was Rebecca, the camp Manager. The accommodation and food were excellent. Mafia Island was certainly an escape and the 2 places we stayed were beautiful (Chole Mjini and Ras Mbisi). The food at Ras Mbisi was outstanding.
In retrospect though, we wished we’d done more time on safari. Mafia was a little too quiet for us to have stayed for a whole week but nevertheless we had some great experiences and met lots of interesting people. We would certainly not hesitate to return to Tanzania and absolutely want to do another safari at some point. The experience was priceless for my son Alex, who learnt so much and had a genuine holiday of a lifetime.
