Julie & John Spence – Peru with Moonstone Trek (August 2014)

Julie and John travelled with Exodus as part of a Peru Explorer group trip which included Nasqua Lines, Arequipa and Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu and the Amazon.  As the Inca Trail was too busy they opted for the less well trodden ‘Moonstone Trek’ which still ended at Machu Picchu but much quieter.  They did find this the most difficult trek ever in their lives! “The views however were amazing – this is definitely a once in a life time experience – I wouldn’t opt to do it again but am glad I have done it once!!”

Our trip into the rainforest and stay at Posada Amazonas was rewarded by plentiful wildlife including rare monkey species, lots of colourful macaws, toucans and a wonderful parrot clay lick!  Very early starts got us to see the forest waking up which was a wonderful experience.
