Holland-Gray Family – Skiathos villa (Aug 20)

We have just returned from another wonderful holiday organised by Travel with Jules (#4). This one was a last minute week on Skiathos in lieu of the “holiday of a lifetime” safari also organised by Jules for this summer which had to be postponed until next year due to Covid.

We cannot recommend this company enough – Jules and Mags take all the stress and risk out of booking a holiday, they offer great advice and suggestions to ensure every member of the family is happy and to ensure each holiday is memorable and special. Travel With Jules ensures every detail is sorted and are an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Villa Mare Skiathos

We really appreciated all the time and effort you put into making sure we had a family holiday this year, after our safari could not go ahead. As usual, you managed to accommodate the wishes of each member of our family, which is a tall order for a family with teenagers!

You both have endless patience and heaps of good advice & suggestions and you were spot on in suggesting the lovely Greek island of Skiathos. Everything went like clockwork, as usual.

Highlights included the villa and it’s location, Private day trip/swimming/snorkelling on a boat to Skopelos, including a visit to the church used in “Mama Mia”.

Church on a rock, Skopelos

You gave us great advice and information regarding our destination and great communication (and patience!) as always. You checked to ensure we had completed all the forms for arrival into Greece and returning to the UK and were always there when we needed to discuss something and you are both lovely to deal with. You take all the hard work and risk out of booking a holiday and I honestly can’t think of anything you could do better!

Footnote:  We spoke to Philippa on her return to find out how the travel experience was amidst the chaos of the travel advice this summer!  Same as we heard from other clients who travelled to Greece in August, arriving into Greece was very ordered, all passenger locator forms and QR codes thoroughly checked, some swab tests on arrival, whilst dining in tavernas the Greek government send texts to everyone (locals and tourists) in the evening reminding people about social distancing.

Skiathos itself was at about 30% capacity of its normal visitor numbers, according to shop keepers for August but it did feel busy, particularly in Skiathos old town where the streets are very narrow.  It was lovely to experience Greece with this amount of people!

Their flight out was full (we heard from several clients who said that some passengers were not wearing masks and crew not enforcing it), departing the UK check in has been a bit tedious and returning to the UK there were no checks on arrival at all (despite Government forms being required to complete for track and trace purposes from all destinations).
