Graeme Wilson – USA Road Trip (July 2018)

Firstly, thanks to Travel With Jules for putting our holiday together, it was amazing from start to finish. I could probably write a 4 page essay about the holiday as there were so many highlights. The holiday was everything we wanted it to be and a bit more. A seamless process that took all the hassle out of booking this trip ourselves. We booked with yourselves 6 years ago when doing Route 66 and we did not hesitate to contact you to put this road trip together for us. From start to finish the holiday was a very smooth process and the document folder made things so simple.

Alcatraz was my personal highlight as I didn’t get chance to go on the island last time I was over there. Temperatures throughout the holiday ranged from 32 degrees to a high of 45 in Las Vegas. We had a couple of downpours in Tennessee but probably due to being quite high up in the mountains.

All hotels were excellent and very easy to find. In terms of places we stayed, they were all excellent with lots of things to do:- we visited Alcatraz, Michael Jacksons Neverland Ranch, Universal Studios, Hollywood Tour, 3 shows in Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, we drove part of Route 66 and stopped at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Oklahoma and Little Rock were very nice places to stop off at, in Memphis we had a riverboat cruise on Independence Day followed by fireworks, Sun Studio Tour, Graceland (amazing) and obviously a great night on Beale Street. Nashville was somewhat of a surprise, we didn’t know what to expect but they certainly know how to party in Nashville! Definitely a place I would re-visit. We took the train from Washington to New York which again, was as smooth process that anyone could ask for.

In Knoxville we visited Dollywood and Roanoke is a very nice town. Washington and New York were amazing and we got to see all the tourist spots in both Cities. Highlights of these cities were The Pentagon, White House, Capital Building etc and New York it was just highlights all the way, we walked round Central Park, the 9/11 Memorial is very special and very eerie but was worth the visit, we finished the holiday with a cruise on the Hudson at night and it was a great way to finish what can only be described as a dream holiday, all made possible by Travel With Jules.

All in all an absolutely stunning holiday. Once again, thank you for putting together such an amazing holiday. We discussed our next holiday during our trip and we are considering something similar but a different direction; we are considering starting in Canada at the Niagara Falls and doing the east coast of America finishing in Miami.
