Alex, Jovi & John – Boys Holiday to Iceland! (January 2016)

(This was a three generation boys adventure bucket list holiday to Iceland for Jovi’s 21st birthday and they stayed at Hotel Grimsborgir, hired a jeep and had a full day private guided Golden Circle tour with snow mobiling!).

“We’re all done and back in the UK now… took off from Reykjavik in a blizzard of all things… that was a first! The trip was amazing and we got to see the Northern Lights on Saturday and Sunday nights so that’s a bonus right there! We went to Fontana Hot Springs for 11am yesterday and they let us straight in… we enjoyed a good hour there before making our way across the National Park (through a blizzard I might add) back to the airport.

If we could make any type of grumble it would only be to say that it didn’t snow more!!! Thanks for booking us a fantastic trip, we’ll be looking for the next one now – Alex”

Here is John’s feedback too – glad you got to enjoy your hot tub and the Northern Lights at the same time!!

“Sorry for the late response here but it’s taken a bit longer to readjust to normal life than usual! I would just like to echo Alex’s email and reiterate what an amazing time we all had. We crammed so much into the weekend that I doubt we could have done any more, short of not sleeping at all. We even managed to squeeze in a stop in Reykjavik on way from the airport, to grab some provisions and have a meal!

The Golden Circle private tour was fascinating and our guide was very informative and fun, and as for the snowmobiling on the glacier…..well, it doesn’t get much better than that. Taking the trip along the coast to Vik and Dyrholaey was such a contrast too, and all in perfectly clear sunny weather… the photos are incredible.

And the icing on the cake was seeing the aurora borealis, not once but two nights running – on our second night we were in the hot tub, and the lights started up, so we jumped out and nearly froze to death just watching them from the decking, then chucked a bare minimum of clothes on and drove out into the hills to take some stunning photos. The second night’s show was different and more intermittent, but no less impressive, and this time we came back after another photo shoot and watched them from the comfort of the hot tub! A childhood dream realised!

The Fontana springs too were amazing, sitting in 40 degree water whilst the snow fell was incredible. Poor Alex had the unenviable task of driving us to the airport in the whiteout across Thingvellir, but we made it with plenty of time to spare. An added bonus was being upgraded to the deluxe apartment, or more accurately villa, so we all got our own room and the most luxurious place to stay. A fantastic hotel and the staff were excellent.

Everything went without a hitch and we are all very grateful for your professional organisation. Jovi will certainly never forget the experience and I very much doubt that we can ever top that for a trip!”
