Change in Visa Fees and Tourism Taxes for arrival into Madagascar
The head of the Madagascar Tourism Board has announced that in 2016 a tourism tax of 10 euros per person will be collected at all entry points to the country. In addition tourism visas, which have until now been free of charge, will be payable for all nationalities at a rate of 20 USD per visa. Payments will be made in cash at the visa counter or the medical inspection counter on arrival at the airport. This should not unduly disrupt visitors’ arrival experience.
While the Director of the Madagascar Tourism Board stated that the tourism tax and visa fees would be collected from January 2016, there has been no official government text establishing a starting date. We will update you as further information becomes available.
