Xanadu Villas & Retreat is located on a beautiful beach and consists of six luxury villas surrounding a pool area so magical it evokes images of African and Arabian folklore. You have a private beach with the warm Indian Ocean a few short steps from each villa. Unique in Zanzibar, Xanadu Villas & Retreat was conceived and crafted by her owners Eileen and Marcus out of a desire to breathe.  If you have a group of friends or large family then ask us about taking exclusive use of Xanadu. 

The presidential Mbingu Villa is beach front and features two bedrooms with ocean view balconies, private bathrooms and sitting areas, a majestic lounge and two private plunge pools of which one is on the roof top. Our cozy one bedroom Umande Villa is beach front, has sitting areas inside and outside, a private bathroom and a private plunge pool. Next to Umande villa is our one bedroom Alfajiri Villa which is also the honeymoon suite. The Villa is beach front, features one bedroom, a spacious lounge, a private plunge pool and a romantic balcony with ocean view.

Xanadu’s cuisine is superb ... locally sourced ingredients are served with a flourish of exotic spice and a huge smile! Non-alcoholic drinks, local beers and a range of house wines are included while cocktails, premium wines and spirits are available at an extra charge. The on-site activities manager will assist our guests in arranging any activity on the beautiful island of Zanzibar.

Guided activities including sea kayaking, snorkelling and Sup boarding from Xanadu’s beach are included in all inclusive rates.
