The itinerary is summarised as follows:
First port of call is Santa Cruz in Tenerife and from the Canaries sail to Porto Grande in Cape Verde of shore of West Africa. Across the Atlantic you first come ashore in Brazil at Recife working your way down through Salvador (one of the oldest settlements in the new worls) with it's Portuguese colonial influence and African culture, to Rio de Janeiro. Take a cable car up Corcovado Mountain to the Christ the Redeemer statue or head for the beaches of Copacabana. South to Uruguay wander the streets of the city then onto Buenos Aires in Argentina. Enjoy art, music and fine restaurants and wines here. Next stop is the Falkland Islands which are home to plenty of wildlife including seals, penguins and sea birds. Round to Ushuaia, the most southerly point of the continent with snow capped mountains and glaciers.
Cruise through the Beagle Channel in the footsteps of Charles Darwin and into the Pacific. North up the coast of Chile you can visit Patagonia and the Lake District then soak up Santiago's vibrant atmosphere. Heading west now, next stop is Easter Island the world's most remote inhabited islands with it's thousands of Moai statues. Into the Southern Pacific Ocean stop at Pitcairn Island and meet the local people. Through Tahiti, French Polynesia to Bora Bora enjoy the delights of these tropical shores
Arriving into Auckland in New Zealand you can enjoy Maori culture and hospitality and explore the city before sailing on to Napier and Wellington. Akaroa and Port Chalmers give you time to explore the shores visited by Captain Cook, maybe swim with dolphins or take a harbour cruise. Heading next to Australia, enter the famous Sydney Harbour with the Opera House and Bridge. Round Australia, plenty of stops including Tasmania, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle and Perth then Geraldton before you cross the Indian Ocean to the Mascarene Islands.
Port Louis, on Mauritius offers you gorges, lagoons and beaches before heading to the tropical island of Renuion. Next stop the continent of Africa! Arrive into Richard's Bay in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa you can take an optional safari in Hluhluwe or a wetlands cruise in St Lucia reserve. Round to Cape Town, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world with fabulous food and wine. Take the cable car up Table Mountain or enjoy the waterfront. Heading up the Atlantic coast now, stop in Walvis Bay in Namibia and take a trip into the Namib Desert and sand dunes. Back at sea, next stop is Sao Tome and Principe which lie on the equator.
Stopping off in Lome, Togo you can experience village voodoo ceremonies before heading into Ghana and a rainforest trip into Kakum National Park with a cable canopy walk. Into Freetown, Sierra Leone explore the former British settlement and learn about the history of this west African country.
Finally, you stop in Madeira, part of Portugal, with it's scenic valleys and vineyards, attractive architecture and beautiful coast. Explore Funchal then board the ship for the final voyage back to Southampton. Return home with the VIP service again after an adventure round the world!
