This is a group walking holiday, based in a comfortable chalet in Chamonix with day hikes in the region. The circuit of Mont Blanc is one of the best walking routes of the Alps and is a series of paths which link the seven valleys surrounding the highest mountain in Western Europe. Normally, the whole circuit takes two weeks, but this one week trip makes the most of the best sections and stays the week in Chalet Savoy in the Chamonix Valley at Les Houches. You will have your own transport for the group which travels out each day to do the next stage of the walk, the transfers are mainly short and the walks include from Trient in Switzerland to Les Contamines in France and the Aosta region of Italy.
The chalet has 8 bedrooms all en-suite and dinner is enjoyed in the dining room or in the garden with mountain views and an outdoor hot tub! Seven nights are spent in the chalet including all breakfasts, 6 dinners and 5 picnic lunches. This is a centre based walking holiday with support vehicle with 5 days walking and 1 free day. The maximum altitude will be 2525m. Some days are quite long involving ascents of about 900-1000m followed by similar coming down, but the paths are well maintained so the treks are graded as moderate and can be enjoyed by anyone of normal good health with reasonable fitness. The walking days average about 7 hours and cover up to 9 miles a day. Group size is maximum 15 plus a leader and the minimum age is 16.
