Many hotels. lodges and villas are in scenic locations and can be used on an exclusive basis, perfect for family get togethers or weddings where you need a private venue.
South Africa is a popular destination for winter sun and is particularly in demand December - January (as many Africans also head here for the holidays!). Cape Town is a great choice for the start or end of a Garden Route holiday, combines with the surrounding wine lands and connects regularly via Johannesburg with flights to Kwa Zulu Natal, the Kruger area or further into Southern Africa. A great safari and beach option is to combine a safari in Botswana or Zambia with some relaxing time in Cape Town.
Around the foothills of Table Mountain in the suburbs of Oranjezicht, Newlands and Camps Bay you will find accommodation in a wide range of boutique B&Bs. From the beach at Camps Bay rows of houses are tiered up the side of the slopes with stunning sea views. The Bay Hotel is a traditional small hotel on the sea front, The Bay Retreat sits in a small nature reserve to one end of the bay. Ellerman House is a stylish Boutique Hotel between Camps Bay and Clifton at Bantry Bay with amazing service. At the Waterfront are a lot of mid range and conference style hotels but our recommendations would be The Table Bay Hotel or Cape Grace.

Take a walk through the historic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens or on many of the walking trails on and around Table Mountain. On the other side of Signal Hill is Tamberskloof with some chic, urban style hotels. Hidden a few blocks from the prom at Sea Point is one of our favourites Blackheath Lodge this is a fabulous relaxing location with friendly owners, a pool and cosy rooms. On the sea front nearby is Winchester Mansions a colonial style hotel with a Sunday Jazz Brunch (pre book as it's very popular!). In the heart of the city close to shops and restaurants are plenty of great standard B&Bs. Our recommendations include Cape Cadogan and More Quarters, Welgelegen, Four Rosmead and Rosedene Guest House.
To the False Bay side of Table Mountain are the vineyards of Constantia (one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa) with gorgeous accommodation in places such as Cellars Hohenort. Along the sea front surrounding False Bay is the lovely fishing town of Fishhoek with it's many seafood restaurants and markets. Nearby is classy St James and lovely B&B's such as Rodwell House.
If you love walking and natural history there are some fabulous hotels on the Cape Peninsula, drive down to Cape Point where you can make the last few yards by tram. The Last Word Long Beach is in a beautiful bay on the Atlantic Coast, if you want to ride a horse along the beach, this is the one for you! Or on the Chapman's Peak scenic road near Hout Bay fishing harbour is Tintswalo Atlantic. This is a gourmet food location with service par excellence! Individually designed 'island suites' are set in an eco lodge along the Atlantic coast with views back towards Cape Town.

On the other side of the peninsula is Simons Town. Here you can visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. There are a selection of mid range hotels and smaller B&B's including Whale View Manor.
