Bequia Beach Hotel - Grenadines

With its softly undulating landscape, and ambling pace of life, tiny, unspoilt Bequia embodies old-style Caribbean charm: this is a place where you can really soak up the local character. Bequia Beach Hotel is set in 10 acres of landscaped gardens on Friendship Bay Beach on Bequia island, which is nine miles west of Mustique, and can be reached by light aircraft from Barbados or St Lucia, or just an hour’s ferry ride from St Vincent.

With just 44 rooms, suites and villas, the Bequia Beach Hotel has been carefully created to ensure a great mix of accommodation, most of which have dazzling ocean views. From Poolside Rooms to Beachfront Suites and a handful of villas with a private pool, there is an option to suit all tastes and preferences. The decor is reminiscent of classic Caribbean chic with touches of contemporary style. Bagatelle offers an eclectic mix of Euro-Caribbean cuisine, whilst the classic Italian menu on offer at Blue Tropic will delight the taste buds of even the most avid Italian cuisine lovers. Jack's Beach Bar offers a beachside haven in beach-chic style, and their tempura and burgers are a must-try.

As with any Caribbean island, expect fresh fish and seafood to feature heavily on the menus too, taking advantage of the daily catches which are brought to the hotel's shores each day by local fishermen. There's plenty to do here, if you can draw yourself away from the indulgent beachside pool, or the beach itself. There are a number of non-motorised water sports readily available. The hotel also has a gym, or you can soothe your muscles with a massage at the spa.

Teeming with a cornucopia of fish, the crystal-clear waters surrounding Bequia Beach are ideal for snorkelling, and there are two scuba centres on the island. Head out on a sailing trip for the chance to spot dolphins, and we'd also highly recommend taking a day trip to the stunning Tobago Cays, where you can usually be fortunate enough to swim with green turtles. Back on dry land, you’re never more than 15 minutes by taxi to wherever you want to go, including the scenic natural harbour, Port Elizabeth. Here you can wander round the farmers’ markets, have some classic Caribbean dishes by the waterfront, and adopt the wonderfully relaxed pace of life.

Another worthwhile trip is a visit to the neighbouring sister island of St Vincent, and there is a regular public ferry service to a number of other nearby islands, all waiting to be explored.

All this is available for just £11,990 total price, for 2 adults, in high season, saving £6700 per couple. With a special low deposit agreed of just £750 per couple.
