Mountains and Mammals in Ethiopia!

Hera and Taco are amazing photographers and wildlife enthusiasts.  In December 2014 they went to Rwanda where Jules arranged for a friend of hers, specialist guide Jimmy, to accompany them where they did several gorilla treks.  This time Ethiopia was the request - this stunning country has so much to offer, it was hard to try and fit everything in! They had an amazing time and trekked in the Simien Mountains, visited the rock hewn churches of Lalibela before heading down the Rift Valley to the Bale Mountains. Here are some of their beautiful photographs.

"We just returned from a beautiful trip to Ethiopia, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for organising it and sorry for the late changes we made to the programme! Simien Mountains, Lalibela and Bale Mountains were beautiful as were the Gelada baboons, the Ibex, incredible amount of native birds and the Ethiopian wolf.

We enjoyed our stays in the hotels, the food, friendly people and Ethiopia. We had wonderful guide Henok, could have been Jimmy’s (Rwandan guide) brother, which made our trip very special. There are a few things we would do differently next time which might be of help to you too: To do all the things we did in 10 days involved a lot of driving. If we had known before hand we might have stayed in the North longer instead of going to Bale Mountains. A tip also from our guide was as we were most interested in wildlife, on the way down from Addis we should have included Awash National park. Thanks again for organising a great trip"
