Many people have realised their dreams of the great American road trip on Route 66 with us – read some of the blog posts for more information!
One of the most popular types of holiday for once in a lifetime holidays are honeymoons. Whether you want to sleep in a tree house, hike the Inca Trail, trek Mountain Gorillas or dive the Great Barrier Reef, many of our bucket list holidays are also dream honeymoons! Have a look at this range of unusual and unique places to stay, whether it’s living like a Red Indian in a teepee or staying with a remote tribe in the Amazon rainforest, we can help with your once in a lifetime holiday.
Wonders of the World often feature in bucket list trips, natural or man made. Why not walk the Great Wall of China, take a flight over the Grand Canyon or visit the Pyramids of Egypt? Many people’s dream holidays include winter trips to the Arctic region. If you are into trekking and mountains then why not head for Kilimanjaro the roof of Africa? Or Everest Base Camp in the Himalayas. Waterfalls of the world are also popular on bucket list holidays – visit Victoria Falls, Iguazu Falls or Niagara Falls as part of a special trip of a lifetime.
Take your children on a magical once in a lifetime family holiday to see Santa in Lapland, spend the night inside an Ice Hotel or Snow Igloo or mush your own team of huskies on a dogsledding adventure! Sleep in the unique rooms of the Tree Hotel in Sweden and race snow mobiles across pack ice!
And all of these locations during October to March are great places to see another bucket list phenomenon, The Northern Lights. We have a huge range of suggested holidays where you could see the Aurora Borealis.
African Safaris are a very popular bucket list trip – for many people getting up close to wild animals and sleeping under the stars is a must do holiday. Did you watch David Attenborough getting up close to the mountain gorillas in the early natural history TV series ‘Life on Earth‘ and wish you were there? Have you followed the ‘Elephant Diaries’ and wanted to visit the little orphans in Kenya or Elephant Watch Camp in Samburu? We are specialists in safaris so talk to us about your requirements and we can arrange whatever you want to do. Got a favourite animal? We know the best places to meet the meerkats, see Penguins or Giant Pandas, can get you up close to big cats or share your breakfast with a Giraffe!!
Train travel is often high on a lot of bucket lists, crossing continents are epic adventures if you have the time. Take the Trans-Siberian across Russia, Mongolia and China or enjoy stunning scenery on a train across Canada from Niagara Falls to the Rocky Mountains and Vancouver. Luxury trains in India area also a very special experience. Take the Orient-Express to Venice to celebrate a special birthday in style!
Some of the most amazing views in the world can be enjoyed on a trip of a lifetime – sunsets are always stunning but top of many bucket lists is Santorini, read about Jules’s trip to this stunning Greek Island here. Watch the moon rise over the ocean or the sunrise at Ayers Rock.
Many people would love to do a Round the World Cruise – these often set sail in January from the UK and can take many months to travel the globe. We have other bucket list long haul holidays as well, such as a couple of months in Australia and New Zealand.
Here are just some of the popular ‘wish list’ holidays we feature.
We did it! Nearly 5 weeks, nearly 4000 miles, 23 beds ending at our regular holiday home resort near San Diego. Met some wonderful characters, seen a lot of sights and eaten in countless eateries, some really great and others perhaps not so. We actually met up with Jerry Mclanahan (author of EZ66) who duly signed our book and took photos, I was 66 that day, on Route 66 meeting the author! Some of the hotels were really wonderful. Loads of souvenirs, loads of photos to sort through and lots of memories and events to 'dine out on'. Thank you so much for your organisation, everything went well and worked seamlessly...

From the beginning the professionalism and communication from Travel With Jules was brilliant and I couldn't have asked for more. I really believe I'll never go through another travel agent again. It was the most amazing holiday, seeing magnificent animals, I had a tear when I saw the blue whale! You arranged an amazing trip, thank you so much.
Sarah Bradshaw – Azores Whale Watching (May 2017)
May 16, 2017
Everything was done well from Travel with Jules' side. The trip was in itself one big continuous highlight! We took a camper van from north to south island.
Alex Juggins – New Zealand (April 2017)
May 11, 2017
Is there anything that could be done better? Can't think of one thing… All went seamlessly – no hitches just a great short break at a brilliant location. The choice of hotel was spot on (quiet in its environment) and our hosts were fab to boot… Choice of hotel, the advice given in terms of when to travel – it was VERY early but that meant more time in Venice! And Venice itself. Glorious. Simply Glorious.
Steve & Annya – Venice (March 2017)
April 4, 2017
We enjoyed every minute of our trip to Southern India. We did a considerable number of miles, in all forms of transport - car, tuktuk, bus, train, boat! The temples in Tamil Nadu which I wanted to see were amazing. The colour and ornamentation is unbelievable.Thank you Jules & Nikhil for another glorious holiday. James was a wonderful driver, guide and all round friend. All in all wonderful!! On with the next!! Love India. Thank you to both of you.
Jenny & David Stagg – India Tamil Nadu & Kerala (Mar 2017)
March 30, 2017
Just to say thank you very much for organising my travels to see my family and changing my return flight when I needed to. Everything worked out very well . Coming back from New Zealand was the quickest I have ever done and helped a lot with the jet lag.
Mary MacKinlay – New Zealand (Dec 16 – Mar 17)
March 28, 2017
Thank you so much for your hard work putting together our fabulous three generation family safari to Northern Tanzania. We loved everything and the highlight was our private Serengeti Camp. We all had an AMAZING time at our private camp in the Serengeti. Our hosts at the camp were all fantastic. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife and the migration was something else, we were surrounded 360 degrees by wildebeest!
Aldersley Family – Tanzania Safari (Feb 2017)
February 26, 2017
The trip was amazing! Everything went smoothly - pre travel we received great service from Travel With Jules - Timely communication, great information. All worked well. Nellim Wilderness Lodge was amazing. The staff and the Nordic reps (Katie and Chloe) were fabulous with the children. If I had to pick two highlights it would be the Husky sledging and the Northern Lights.
Hogan Family – Lapland (Dec 2016)
December 27, 2016
The holiday was just incredible and couldn't have been any better in our wildest dreams. Thank you for all your assistance and your genius in putting this itinerary together for us to perfectly match what we wanted. Giraffe Manor was exceptional and even now feels like we were in a dream. It was great to know that every step of our holiday was taken care of including visiting our fostered elephant and meeting the last male Northern White Rhino on the planet.
Robin & Sam – Kenya (Oct 2016)
October 26, 2016
Service from Travel with Jules was first class! You guys were great and helpful and patient…. All very good on the organisation side of things. The chef at the villa produced lovely food and the weather was great. The couple of trips into Rome itself went really well, the guide was a real star! The swimming pool at the villa was lovely and it was nice that they kept it open for us.

Thank you for all your hard work in putting together our tailor made holiday to Tanzania. Accommodation throughout was at least very good, sometimes really excellent. The Old Boma hotel where the service was super - one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world Hassan our safari guide was first class and very helpful. The Bush Rover camping was fun ... for one night!
Eclipse in Tanzania & Selous Safari – Mr & Mrs R (Sept 2016)
September 13, 2016
Thank you again for your help and support with organising the trip. It truly was spectacular and such an amazing place. The aurora display we got on the 3 nights in Dawson was out of this world at times the entire sky was filled above us and no lens would have been wide enough to capture it
Yukon and Alaska – Mark Tolcher (Aug-Sept 2016)
October 5, 2016
If you’re considering seeing the Palio in Sienna (and you should) you must go for a few days before, and at least one day after. It is an extraordinary event that has its feet firmly placed in the Middle Ages, The Palio is actually about tradition, pageantry, corruption and thuggery. But all of those things make for an amazing experience. Jules got really good seats for us – the terraces is where it’s at. Then there’s the drums, the flags, the roaring oxen, the colour, the noise – an incredible time WILL be had! ..... But get stuck in – because they haven’t arranged it for you, and they won’t wait for you to join them!
The Palio in Siena, Italy – Howlett Family (Aug 2016)
August 26, 2016
What a wonderful trip. Holiday of a lifetime. I can't thank you enough Jules and Mags. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we will certainly book another trip with you. It was awesome. You are awesome.
Violet & Craig – USA Route 66 (May 2016)
May 27, 2016
As always you did everything to such a high standard (We wouldn't expect anything else from you though!!) Where in the world can you visit a zen garden in the morning and meet with the head resident priest for a chat, see a very large cat being walked on a collar and lead through the bamboo groves and see the craziness of a robot cabaret........... that would be Japan!!!! A massive thank you to Jules and Mags for yet another fabulously arranged holiday. If you're thinking of going to Japan then book with Travel with Jules, the organisation is excellent, the information you receive is comprehensive and very detailed, you can't go wrong.
Sarah & Jeremy – Japan (April 2016)
May 30, 2016
You gave us good knowledge of the county which gave me confidence in you from our first conversation. Easy to communicate with and get hold of. I always want to feel in control of my holiday and I felt able to discuss and make changes to your initial itinerary. Highlights included the Skiing in Whistler & the guide we had for Niagara falls. We loved Vancouver and did the whale watching cruise and float plane ride.
Pearman Family – Canada (March 2016)
May 30, 2016
Highlights included watching the dolphins and the most amazing snorkelling, watching the sun set drinking a cocktail and having the most incredible full body massage and facial looking down on the fishes swimming in the sea! It was an incredible holiday and the best way to spend my 50th birthday! We will definitely recommend your travel services, thank you.
Julie & Jerry – Maldives (March 2016)
March 28, 2016
Thank you so much for organising my trip to Australia for me! I was very unsure about travelling alone but Mags met me and talked me through the things I needed to do, such as getting travel insurance and a visa. The group I met in Alice Springs and travelled with were great fun and the tour leader was lovely. I really loved everything, it was all amazing!
Becky Baker – Australia (Feb – March 2016)
March 29, 2016
What can I say? You did it again! From the night I arrived, being welcomed back to Hemingways in Nairobi (I felt like the King of Scotland again!), to the day I left everything was a complete delight. Elephant Watch Camp is lovely, the staff there are superb. They know all the elephants by name and there were around 9 families in the area, Saba had arranged a surprise sleep out for me with the warriors! I had some amazing leopard sightings around Samburu too ... all in all very sad to leave there.
Wilf Graham – Elephant Watch, Kenya (March 2016)
March 29, 2016
The entire trip and booking process has been a highlight! From talking to Jules on the phone trying to decide where to go to finding out the actual experience was exactly as she described it would be. Wildlife, nature, good weather, friendly welcomes…fantastic food… perfect flights… everything! Going to Zambia in the Emerald season is a delight...
Naomi Delorme – Zambia (Feb – March 2016)
March 22, 2016

Just back home, the holiday already seems like ages ago but we really did have the trip of a lifetime! Thank you Jules for your arrangements and making it all work so well for us (especially talking to us whilst we were flying from the Mara, not sure which air strip to get off the plane!!)
David & Sue Hughes – Kenya (Feb – March 2016)

Jack & Anita Russell – Iceland (December 2015)

Nellim Wilderness Lodge was everything we wanted from this holiday and was worth the extra travelling to get to. We loved seeing the Northern lights and the husky team driving was a highlight for all the adults. The kids loved all the excursions and the lack of pressure on timings meant that we all enjoyed the holiday more.
Rutland Family – Santa’s Lapland (Dec 2015)
December 23, 2015
We can’t thank Travel With Jules enough for all the work and effort they put in to organising our holiday of a life time! From the first email we sent to the day we came back, everything was trouble and stress free. Our only regret was we should have gone for 3 weeks instead of 2! Thank you Jules & Mags for making memories that will last a lifetime.
California Road Trip – James & Laura (Aug 2015)
March 22, 2016
Our Route 66 trip was brilliant thank you. The driving was not as difficult as I expected - we bought the EZ66 guide in Joliet. Grand canyon was a great detour. I just enjoyed meeting the local people, they keep the route and history going, but not in a crazy way, just living on it.
Charlotte & Chris – Route 66 (July 2015)
September 1, 2015
Our tailor made Route 66 holiday was the best trip we have ever done - you did a great job at organising it, thank you! It was a great balance of accommodation with quirky motels, boutique hotels and historic sites. We would recommend anyone thinking about a trip down Route 66 to do it!

Jules designed our holiday around us, taking on board everything we said we wanted to do and see and tried to include everything within our budget for our holiday of a lifetime to India. I cannot recommend Travel with Jules highly enough, she takes the time to listen to what you want, how much you have to spend and will fit your holiday around your requirements. Look no further than Travel with Jules for your special holiday.

Nothing seemed like too much trouble; plenty of ‘what ifs’ posed and responded to with an immediate understanding of what we were looking for. If you’re looking for a travel organiser to tailor your holiday to your requirements, look no further than Jules – thoroughly recommended.

Thank you for organising such a great schedule for us on our recent trip to Norway, especially at such short notice and with so much demand this season for Northern Lights. Cathy Bauso – Northern Norway (March 2012)
March 27, 2012
Julie, many, many thanks for the trip you organised for us to Norway for my wife’s surprise birthday present. One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
