You picked some great places to stay we would probably not have found ourselves. Your local knowledge came in very handy when planning the itinerary – we would not otherwise have known the best direction to do the Pacific Highway nor thought of going to Laguna beach which turned out to be a brilliant place. Also the advice to get FastPass tickets for Universal. You made the booking of the flights and car very easy and those bits of the journey went very smoothly.
When there was an unexpected event that meant we couldn’t make it to one of the hotels, you came to the rescue and also got us a refund. I don’t think there was much that could have been improved. If being picky I’d say for future ref that: Lovely hotel though it is, some of the rooms at The Garland (LA) are very near the flyover so best to secure rooms on the quiet sides (we moved room after one night). It was bit disappointing that old Grizzly and the other famous redwoods at Yosemite are closed for renovation till Fall 2017. I would still have gone but I think if we’d heard this in advance it would be less disappointing. Also, if you can access the accommodation options within the park that would be a great boon – it’s a long travel in each day even from as ‘close’ as the lodge we were in and, whilst a perfectly OK hotel, it was the only accommodation on the trip that felt a bit average.
Highlights included Laguna Beach and the Inn at Laguna Beach (so good you booked us an Ocean view room), Universal Studios, Walking through Yosemite (even with the big trees closed off) The Garland Hotel in LA and the breakfast, garden and crazy-friendly people at Noe’s Nest in San Francisco!
