Gambia Travel Advice

UPDATED 23 JAN 2017

(From Gambia Experience, who we book all our clients with)

We are pleased to announce that the FCO has today removed its advice against all but essential travel to The Gambia. Our charter flight programme with Titan Airways from Gatwick will therefore recommence from Friday 27th January. Please be aware there is now limited availability on this flight, so passengers may wish to consider travelling the following week (Tuesday & Friday departures). We are awaiting confirmation from Thomas Cook of their regional programme from 1st February onwards

Gambia Travel Advice (updated 17th Jan 2017)

We have this travel advice from The Gambia Experience, our trade partners who we book all our Gambia holidays with. They have a team permanently on the ground in country so we get first hand information about the situation.

IF TRAVEL WITH JULES HAS BOOKED YOUR HOLIDAY TO THE GAMBIA WE WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU TODAY

Following the recent disputed Presidential election in the Gambia and the run up to the scheduled handover date of 18/19 January 2017, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) have amended their travel advice to “all but essential travel to The Gambia.”

Whilst the current situation in The Gambia remains calm we will be working with the FCO and airline partners to offer pre-emptive repatriation flights back to the UK. The first repatriation flight for our Gatwick passengers will be on Wednesday 18th January and a second flight will operate on Friday 20th January. Details of Manchester and Birmingham flights will be advised to customers in resort

Advice for customers currently in The Gambia

Our resort team are in contact with customers in resort and are working with us on repatriation arrangements. Customers booked on a package holiday are being advised to remain in their hotel and will be accommodated by us until they return to the UK. Gambia Experience flight only customers, with a valid return ticket are asked to contact our local resort office on (00220) 446 3867 should they wish to return to the UK on a repatriation flight.

Advice to customers booked with The Gambia Experience travelling on a Thomas Cook flight (travelling up to 31st January 2017) We are currently liaising with Thomas Cook Airlines but our expectation is customers booked to travel outbound with us on a Thomas Cook flight will no longer be able to travel. The Thomas Cook flights are likely to operate without passengers on the outbound flight and will be utilised on the inbound flight (from The Gambia) to return customers to the UK. We will be offering customers the following options. 1) To amend your holiday (depending on any further change in advice) 2) Change to an alternative destination 3) Receive a full refund. Please be aware phone lines may be busy as we deal with repatriation arrangements for customers in The Gambia, but rest assured we will make every effort to answer customer queries.

Advice for customers due to travel to The Gambia from now to 31st January 2017 If you are booked to travel with The Gambia Experience on or before the 31st January 2017, there are a number of options open to you;

1. Amend your travel dates for a future date (this can be done up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure from the UK) 2. Amend your holiday to another destination featured by our parent company Serenity Holidays 3. Cancel your travel arrangements free of charge and receive a refund.

Advice for customers travelling between 1st-15th February 2017 Passengers currently booked to travel within this period are able to; 1. Amend your travel dates to a future date (this can be done up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure from the UK) 2. Amend your holiday to another destination featured by our parent company Serenity Holidays

Advice for customers travelling after 15th February 2017 At this stage passengers travelling after the 15th February 2017 do not need to take any further action. We will continue to monitor events and liaise with the FCO, we will review our amendment and cancellation policy on a rolling basis and we will contact you at the appropriate point in time, which will be no later than two weeks prior to your planned departure date.
