Changes to Dubai airport taxes

From 1 July changes to taxes flying out of Dubai International Airport.

We have very recently been informed that the Dubai Airports Authority are introducing a new ‘Passenger Facilities Tax’ for ALL departures ex DUBAI which will be applicable as follows:

• Effective for travel on/after 1 July 2016 (passengers departing in June and returning from Dubai in July are required to pay)

• Applicable to all tickets issued on/after 1 March 2016

• The charge of AED35 equates approximately to £7 per person for every departure from Dubai (infants under 2 without a seat are exempt)

eg: route LHR/DXB/LHR charge £7 pp

eg: route LHR/DXB/MRU/DXB/LHR charge £14 pp

The purpose of the charge is to assist in funding the airport’s continued facility improvement programme, which aims to increase capacity and enhance the level of service and capability of the airport. Please be advised that the lifting airline is responsible for remittance.

If you are booked with us to travel to or via Dubai after 1 July, please contact us and you have the option to pay the balance of your holiday by 26 February which enables us to issue flight tickets early and avoid the payment of this new Tax.

Early ticketing would have the added benefit of allowing your seats to be pre-assigned. Please note: as per the airlines’ condition of carriage, seat numbers are not guaranteed.
