Guatemala is full of volcanoes, forests, jungles and ancient history. Mayan ruins can be found in thick jungle settings surrounded by tropical wildlife – the perfect destination for a combination of natural history and culture.
The heart of Guatemala is its people. Steeped in history and full of culture, this country is deeply proud of it’s age old customs. In many villages you will find richly woven colourful costumes being worn and there are many festivals here. The landscape is full of lakes, jungles and volcanoes and it has a sub-tropical climate. Take a trip through ancient Mayan civilisations.
In the northern jungles is the archeologcial site of Tikal which along with Machu Picchu is one of the most impressive on the continent. Travel to colonial Antigua to explore one of the most attractive cities in the region, just three hours drive away are the western highlands and the traditional market town of Chichicastenango. There are volcanoes and Mayan villages dotted all over this area. In the centre of the country explore the hill town of Coban and the surrounding highland scenery including the grottos of Languin and beautiful blue pools at Semuc Champey.
Heading down to the coastal area and the Caribbean, you will find the ruined Mayan city of Copan which has a jungle location on the border with Honduras. Inland from Livingston you can explore the Rio Dulce Gorge or travel by water to Roatan Island.
Ask me about tailor made travel to Guatemala and Latin America, groups, escorted, adventure or with a private guide, there is plenty of vibrant culture and exotic wildlife to be enjoyed here!
My 6 and 8 year old daughters loved every minute and didn't want to come home, it was a perfect family holiday, with plenty to do and very educational for them but fun at the same time

Julie and John travelled with Exodus as part of a Peru Explorer group trip which included Nasqua Lines, Arequipa and Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu and the Amazon. As the Inca Trail was too busy they opted for the less well trodden ‘Moonstone Trek’ which still ended at Machu Picchu but much […]

For the last three years we have been using Jules to arrange our annual winter long haul holidays and have enjoyed travelling with someone else doing the organising in the full knowledge that should a problem occur we have a reliable point of contact who ensures that our enjoyment of the holiday isn't in any way spoiled. I would thoroughly recommend using 'Travel with Jules' to anyone contemplating wishing to travel on a wildlife & sightseeing adventure!

I work hard to be able to afford great holidays. I know that you Jules work very hard to make sure that I enjoy my holidays. I love the fact that you can take my fledgling dream for a trip, and transform it into real life; that you listen to what I would like to do, and adjust the finer details to fit my dream, never suggesting that my dream be squeezed into a pre-formed package.

One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
