Tailor made holidays, honeymoons, treks & tours to Ecuador and Galapagos
Did you watch ‘Beyond the Lobby’ on BBC in April and want to visit Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador? High in the cloud forests this unique hotel combines luxury with eco-tourism. Contact us on 01728 748209 or send an enquiry and we’ll have you on your way!
As it’s name suggests, Ecuador sits across the Equator and for a small country, packs in some amazing sights and variety of landscapes you can be in the Northern and Southern hemispheres at the same time! Its size means it is easy to get around, you can combine jungle, mountains and beaches in the same holiday!
The roads here are scenic and there are friendly people and farm stays (haciendas) to enrich your journey. Andes and Amazon quickly sums up what Ecuador is all about. Quito (the capital) is located 2,850 metres above sea level and in the shadow of Mount Pichincha. The city has no major temperature changes through the year but up in the mountains it can get very cold at night, it’s a great setting to acclimatise and enjoy the beautifully preserved buildings, the colonial heart of the city being a UNESCO heritage site.
Guayaquil on the coast and the Amazon interior are hot and humid all year round. South of Quito some of the best mountain views in the country are found. The ‘Avenue of Volcanoes’ is an impressive snow capped range of peaks including Cotopaxi, Chimborazo and Tungurahua. Trekking and climbing holidays here are popular but even if you are not trekking, take some excursions to the colourful Indian markets and colonial towns sitting amongst the mountains.
The high villages in the mountains are home to traditional cultures – take time to explore lively markets piled high with colourful textiles and handicrafts. A few hours north of Quito is Otavalo, one of the main weaving centres of Ecuador and a great place to buy some souvenirs. The techniques used to make these textiles has remained unchanged for centuries.
The terrain is diverse, from snowy peaks on Andean volcanoes and cloud forests, to the wild beaches of the Pacific coast and the rugged wildlife filled Galapagos Islands. The Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest is home to a massive biodiversity of wildlife and the Sacha Lodge and Napo Wildlife Centre are perfect for a unique jungle experience as is the Huaorani Eco Lodge, run by the local tribes people.
Most travellers visit between June and October but the country is accessible year round (And the Galapagos is best visited December – March) . A holiday to Ecuador combines well with the Galapagos Islands or Peru. Ask us about a special honeymoon to Ecuador or a tailor made holiday or group tour, maybe including other parts of Latin America.

My 6 and 8 year old daughters loved every minute and didn't want to come home, it was a perfect family holiday, with plenty to do and very educational for them but fun at the same time

Julie and John travelled with Exodus as part of a Peru Explorer group trip which included Nasqua Lines, Arequipa and Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Machu Picchu and the Amazon. As the Inca Trail was too busy they opted for the less well trodden ‘Moonstone Trek’ which still ended at Machu Picchu but much […]

For the last three years we have been using Jules to arrange our annual winter long haul holidays and have enjoyed travelling with someone else doing the organising in the full knowledge that should a problem occur we have a reliable point of contact who ensures that our enjoyment of the holiday isn't in any way spoiled. I would thoroughly recommend using 'Travel with Jules' to anyone contemplating wishing to travel on a wildlife & sightseeing adventure!

I work hard to be able to afford great holidays. I know that you Jules work very hard to make sure that I enjoy my holidays. I love the fact that you can take my fledgling dream for a trip, and transform it into real life; that you listen to what I would like to do, and adjust the finer details to fit my dream, never suggesting that my dream be squeezed into a pre-formed package.

We had a wonderful time in Peru - thank you for organising this, the people were lovely and I particularly enjoyed the train travel. The Amazon lodge was amazing and we did all the tours day and night!

As Andy was 50 this year, we wanted a special trip and Jules did an amazing job of organising our trip to Peru and Machu Picchu in May. Thanks to Jules the trip was stress free and very enjoyable.

One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
