Belgium

City breaks, fabulous food and culture, Belgium is just a short hop across the channel but offers a vast array of choice for the holiday maker. Brussels is of course the business centre, but is also gaining in popularity for long weekends, with it’s many museums, historic sights and shops and the hub of Eurostar, so connect here for onward train journeys throughout Europe and beyond.

Bruges is simply beautiful – surrounded by canal waterways it’s a medievel city with amazing architecture and was one of the richest cities in Northern Europe in the Middle Ages. It now has hundreds of great bars and restaurants and is particularly pretty in the spring and summer with thousands of window boxes and pretty coloured buildings.

Belgium is of course world famous for it’s beers and chocolate! There are over 450 varieties of beer, many with their own stylised glasses and there are plenty of beer festivals thoughout the year, well worth a visit and there is actually a driving tour called ‘the beer route’. There are over 2000 chocolate shops in Belgium, every town and village having at least one! There are world class restaurants throughout Belgium and lots of other local speciality products.

There is plenty of history to research and abbeys, churches, battlefields  and museums to explore. Castles are everywhere, some particularly fine examples are found here and Belgium has more castles per square mile than anywhere else in the world!

You can of course drive over to Belgium using the ferries and the Eurostar gets you from London to Brussels in just under two hours!  There are plenty of flights too.

This was our 3rd holiday booked with Travel With Jules. Everything was perfect - the details about the cruise, the paper work, including the little Bruges guide and the map you sent us. Bruges is a beautiful and charming city. Thank you Jules and Mags for organising it. We have already booked our next holiday to Sicily with TWJ and highly recommend their travel services.

Thank you for booking our Christmas Market River Cruise holiday to Germany, we had a really lovely time. The staff on the boat (MPS Rotterdam) and our cabin (Promenade deck) was lovely and the food was out of this world! The best markets were in Bonn and Rudesheim.

You found fabulous hotels that met my specification in fabulous locations, booked them and arranged train tickets and flight tickets then sent these to my elderly mum so she was confident of our itinerary and travel arrangements.

Thank you to Travel With Jules for co-coordinating our rail and accommodation arrangements for our rail holiday to France and Italy – I would have no hesitation in recommending you to any of our friends requiring similar help. All rail bookings were as requested  and documentation clear. In particular the Turin/Rome, Rome/Napoli and Napoli/Rome train journeys […]

One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
