Tailor Made & Bespoke Honeymoons & Holidays to Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is in the middle of The Caribbean chain – 50 miles east of Dominican Republic and the smallest of the Greater Antilles. There is a fabulous mix of Spanish, American and Taino Indian culture both traditional and modern on this island and there is a huge array of attractions and activities for all types of holidays.
Direct flights operate November to April and there are many other options year round via the United States, plus via Madrid in Spain. The heaviest rain falls in September. The capital and airport is at San Juan where there are a range of fantastic restaurants and luxury hotels. There is a buzzy nightlife in both the city and the historic part of Old San Juan where latino rhythms and salsa dancing rule. Celebrities hailing from Puerto Rico include Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin! In November there is a classical and folk music festival and there are various other festivals through the year.
Away from the capital there is a world of Spanish colonial towns, quiet resorts on the seaside, beautiful hidden beaches and lush rainforests. There is unusual geography and natural history here. The smaller off shore islands of Culebra, Mona and Vieques make interesting excursions.
Fishing is popular here with the international blue marlin tournament being help in August, the longest consecutively held big game fishing event in the world. Outdoor activities to be enjoyed on Puerto Rico include canyoning, surfing, horse riding, championship golf and hiking.
If you want an overseas wedding you can head for Puerto Rico! No residency is required you need to apply for a marriage license, I can advise along with the hotels the details to plan your special event for you. Honeymoons of course are also superb here.
Sights to explore and enjoy include ‘El Morro’ one of the largest forts built by the Spanish in the Caribbean and the Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory which is one of the most important world research stations. Visit the Rio Camuy Cave Park, the third largest system of caves in the world formed over one million years ago. Indian Heritage can be found at the largest ceremonial centre in the West Indies at Tibes Ceremonial Park with many petroglyphs and monoliths. Take a walking tour of Old San Juan to get a feel for the culture through cobbled streets, colourful buildings, museums and markets.
Ask me to tailor make a holiday to Puerto Rico, maybe combining with other Caribbean destinations.
Thank you for booking our French Caribbean self guided walking holiday to Guadeloupe and Martinique Travel With Jules adapted the original itinerary by Headwater (the operator) to suit our travel needs from Edinburgh and resolved a ridiculously unnecessary booking on a very early transfer flight at no extra cost to us when Headwater had raised a charge. It […]

All I can say is AWESOME!!!!!! The staff and other visitors at The Body Holiday were so friendly, I didn't feel uncomfortable as a solo traveller (after the first fifteen minutes of watching others obviously!) at all. The hosted communal evening meals were lively, friendly, interesting discussions with perfect strangers, several of whom I subsequently spent meal times with. The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly and I will definitely be looking to travel there again. I would also like to say thank you for putting me on to such a wonderful spot and I would love it if more places were so open to solo travellers and accommodating to different needs. All in all I would score it 10 out of 10!

Our holiday to Dominican Republic was a huge success, thank you! We loved the beautifully conceived "travel packs" that added a "wow" factor! The holiday was also a cloak-and-dagger operation for me to propose to Sophie. The hotel excelled itself on providing 10 restaurants with a la carte offerings - food was superb. Thank you for all your help in making this special holiday happen!

Everything was spot on. The second hotel was excellent - well recommended. Shirley heights on Sunday and the excellence 360 island trip are brilliant.

Cuba – what an amazing country ... the noise and bustle of Havanna, the cars, the history, the people, a place stopped in time, interesting scenery, history and culture and the most beautiful beaches!

Julie gave us an excellent service for our holiday to Barbados. She listened to our requirements, gave informed advice and provided more than we had asked for! We will use her again and will recommend her to family and friends.

Our Caribbean holiday to Antigua was fantastic!! The Inn at English Harbour was really beautiful, quiet and tranquil. Did some excellent snorkelling and a couple of tours as well. Absolutely perfect, certainly one of the best holidays we've had. Thank you so much for organising it, we'll be back for more!

It was lovely to have Jules to sort everything out for us, and it certainly meant that we could relax and get on with organising the other parts of our wedding safe in the knowledge that our honeymoon was being taken care of for us. Everything went as smoothly as it could be from start to finish, we had zero problems throughout.

One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
