Bespoke and Tailor Made Holidays & Honeymoons to Laos
Laos is part of the Indochina triangle which also includes Cambodia and Vietnam, so holidays to all of these countries in south east Asia can easily be combined as can Thailand to the west. The capital is Vientiane and it’s a hilly, land locked country which has jungle covering about 60% of it. The main rainy season is June to September and humidity is very uncomfortable during that time, so travel in our winter months is preferable for comfort.
The tourist infrastructure here is still developing but visitor who enjoy destinations away from mass tourism will love Laos with it’s many cultural treasures and natural beauty. As well as Vientiane, another main area for tourism is the UNESCO protected Luang Prabang. Vientiane is a refreshing change from the usual choking fumes of Asian capitals, here you can watch the Mekong river flow past as you enjoy some local food. There is a French influence here with crusty baguettes being a popular snack food form with of course spicy salads and flavours of the east. There is even a ‘mini Arc de Triomphe’ at Patuxai!
Away from the colonial influences you will find dramatic scenery and glittering gold temples such as That Luang and the Buddhist statues of Xieng Khuan. The dusty streets of Luang Prabang are full of orange cloaked monks carrying parasols and sits at the confluence of two rivers. There are lovely small hotels here as large developments have thankfully been banned. A journey into Laos is like stepping back in time.
Adventure holidays can be enjoyed here, particularly exploring around the limestone casts on the river banks at Vang Vieng where you can kayak or river tube between bamboo bars. There are around 4000 islands on the border with Cambodia which are home to the rare Irrawaddy River Dolphin. You can stay in tree house lodges and visit the Gibbon centre where you can do a zip line adventure.
Highlights of Laos should include paddling the peaceful Luang Prabang – meeting hill tribes – visit the mysterious Plain of Jars – enjoy the Gibbon Experience – take a trip down the Mekong River – explore the Colonial splendour of Vientiane.
So contact us to find out how you can explore Laos in a group, independently combined with neighbouring countries on on it’s own. Laos is a feast for the senses and a fabulous destination for your Indo China holiday!
Communication was always very clear and we always had a quick response. We were very pleased with the service we received from Travel With Jules. The Ha Long Bay Bassac boat cruise was brilliant, the crew on board were a fantastic group and did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We would definitely recommend your services to our friends.

One of the things I have come to love about you, Jules, is that you listen and take on board what makes me tick, and then tailor the holiday to fit me, not just try to convince me to fit a holiday in a brochure!
